Elder care professionals, geriatric care managers, owners of senior care companies, know just how much time your clients’ spend on care. An interesting study done before the pandemic concluded “that on average, older adults spent 3 weeks in the year getting care outside the home“.

  • getting/taking medications
  • dealing with insurance companies

How senior care professionals can help reduced “treatment burden”

Some of these tips may be familiar to experienced senior care professionals. However, it’s good to review every now and then. According to this piece in particular senior care professionals can help reduce treatment burden by:

  • Advising your clients to be honest with medical professionals if a treatment plan seems too overwhelming
  • Suggest your clients arrange medical appointments and tests on the same day
  • Have a list of transportation services available in your clients’ area
