I started my career in advertising working on the AARP account.  A foreshadowing of things to come!  I rose through the ranks learning the power of brands, marketing best practices and the benefits of networking.  I studied to become a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) over 10 years ago, to provide even deeper insights about older adults to our clients. I have maintained my certification ever since.  I leveraged my marketing background to transition to what has been a 7+ year sales role in senior living, working with families and aging industry professionals every single day.  Along the way, I earned a graduate certificate in Gerontology from UMass Boston and was inducted into SIGMA PHI OMEGA, the International and Professional Society in Gerontology.  I also became certified in Person-Centered Dementia Care by the Alzheimer’s Association.  My desire to support the professionals who serve our older adults has never been stronger, inspiring the birth of AgePros.

My advertising career began after a brief stint as a paralegal. Yes. My parents wanted a lawyer in the family. Name a category and I’ve probably worked in it. From infant formula to advantage Medicare plans, financial to pharmaceutical, high tech to tour and travel. At every step of my career, from junior copywriter to executive creative director, I’ve had amazing partners and mentors. Yet even this strong professional and personal network didn’t prepare me for the community of effort needed to care for my older parents. The life care managers, home health aides, social workers, hospice personnel, and financial advisors shared their expertise and compassion generously and without hesitation. They are my inspiration for AgePros. And I hope we can do right by them– creating a valuable place for age pros, where they can share and learn, compare, and grow, support each other, see each other, and mentor each other. That would be my definition of success.
